Our client is one of Australia’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of roll-formed steel building products. This site plays a key role in the production and distribution of roofing and walling, rainwater goods, custom and standard flashings, and structural steel products. We are seeking for a machine operator to join the AM team!
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
Pay Rate: $34.68 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Manual handling of sheet metal products ranging from 1m to 3m in length. While not overly heavy, items can be awkward and will often require two-person lifts.
- Handling a variety of products including flashings, cladding, steel coils, and other roll-formed steel products.
- Operating as an off-side machine operator, manually removing finished products from the end of the production line and placing them into racking or storage.
- Receiving training to operate an overhead crane for loading steel coils onto production machines.Ensuring machines are running at full capacity, stocked with required materials, and maintained to a high standard.
- Performing routine checks on production output to ensure quality standards are met.
- Working with both computer-controlled and mechanically operated machinery to ensure correct setup, safe operation, and consistent product quality
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in a hands-on or labour-intensive role is strongly preferred.
- Experience within manufacturing or production environments is highly regarded.
- LF forklift licence preferred but not essential.
- Overhead crane experience is highly regarded, though training will be provided.
